A Journey of Giving Back

For years, I dedicated myself to the mental health community, driven by my passion for helping others. I poured my heart into my creative works and shared my real-life experiences, offering my time, resources, and hard work to support those who, like me, struggle with mental health challenges.

As a visual artist successfully managing my bipolar diagnosis for the past 30 years, I made it my mission to give back to a community that played a crucial role in my recovery.

Volunteering Through Adversity

In two major provinces, I volunteered my time, creative skills, and advocacy efforts to help others cope with and manage their mental health. For four years, I balanced this commitment while grappling with my own struggles with depression, living alone without family support.

Despite my success, I faced a shocking injustice: I was secretly declared mentally incompetent, labeled too "crazy" to defend myself in a court of law.

The Hidden Struggles

In the months that followed, I battled PTSD and anxiety, exacerbated by experiences of gang stalking. I felt too traumatized to seek help, fearing that those I should turn to for support were, in fact, sabotaging my efforts to reclaim my life. This hidden agenda aimed to isolate me, leaving me without the support I desperately needed.

Advocating for Mental Health and Innocence

As we observe Mental Health Awareness Month, I am not only advocating for mental health but also for my art and my innocence.

Many may not realize that my videos discussing these issues on social media are being intentionally shadow-banned and censored, silencing my message. Why? As someone recently said, “I smell the stench of truth! When that happens, most people turn a blind eye and plug their ears until it affects them personally.”

The Power of Creative Expression

My creative works and my commitment to supporting those struggling with mental health are not merely expressions of artistic talent; they serve as powerful reminders that I am far from the defamation of my character and the false image painted by those who seek to block my God-given right to pursue my destiny. I chose to walk my own unique path, and I will not be silenced.

The Importance of Sharing Our Stories

Reflecting on my journey during this Mental Health Awareness Month, I am reminded of the importance of sharing our stories and supporting one another. My experiences have taught me that even in the face of adversity, we can rise above challenges and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

What was done to me will not deter me from reaching out to help and support others whenever I can. I don’t need a prestigious degree for that; I live what I teach, and I understand mental health.

A Call to Action

I urge everyone to listen, advocate, and stand up for their truth. Together, we can break the silence surrounding mental health and create a community where every voice is valued and heard. Let us unite in our efforts to foster understanding, compassion, and support for one another.
